ABOUT TCSEF
Dedicated to educational opportunities

Who We Are
Transylvania County Schools Educational Foundation (TCSEF) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the enrichment of educational opportunities for our students and efforts to support the goals and strategic plans of the Transylvania County School System (TCS).
Originally founded in 1989, the TCSEF went inactive for several years following the 2001 collapse of the U.S. financial markets. It was reorganized in 2007 under the leadership of then School Superintendent, Dr. Sonna Lyda. After two years of work by a very dedicated group of board members, TCSEF began making grants for the schools in January of 2009. Each year, the Foundation puts over $10,000.00 back into our schools. A gift to TCSEF will increase its ability to add more funds to the grant awards each year.
